Go to the charting API page for more information related to chart programming.
Please note that this feature is in beta phase, and some of the functionality and APIs may change - check back for updated information.
This page shows the charts generated during a session.
Currently charts are generated for the first 20 symbols in the symbols list on which the trading system is run.
Charts are created in the trading system code itself by calling a number of APIs, which are listed in the programming guide chapters.
If the "Show charts" option is selected and once a session has completed successfully, the charts page is displayed.
This page contains the following elements:
Links to pages showing the charts for various symbols.
Contains various controls for zooming in/out, scrolling etc the charts.
To zoom in/out highlight the corresponding option by clicking on it. When over the main pane of the chart the cursor will change to the corresponding image.
To zoom in either click on the chart, or select a zone of the chart (click, drag, release).
To zoom out click on the chart.
Zoom in/out can be repeated until the max or min number of bars is displayed.
If the chart is zoomed in, one can then scroll to various date ranges. First select the Pointer mode, then drag the main pane of the chart left or right and release, and a new portion of the chart will be displayed.
The chart for each symbol consists in one or more panes. The x axis for all panes shows the time stamps, and the y axis shows values depending on their contents.
The title show the symbol, if set in the trading system, the title, and then the date range covered by the current view.
The main pane show the symbol prices and volume as candlesticks or OHLC bars. This pane can also contain lines for various indicators calculated during a system run.
Other panes can be created a runtime and each of them can contain one or more indicators or other values calculated at runtime.
To see the actual values of price or volume bars, or of indicators, position the cursor over the bar or line at the desired date and the name, date, and value(s) will be displayed.
